Habitat is a mixed-use development located on Bayshore Drive, north of Byron Bay's town centre and adjacent to the Arts and Industrial Estate. The development is made up of an innovative mix of live-work housing, commercial and community facilities with the aim of becoming a village where residents can live, work and play successfully.

SEE Civil undertook the bulk earthworks, detailed earthworks and civil construction elements of the development. Civil works were completed in 2016, with ongoing building works now being undertaken progressively by building contractors.

Scope of Works

  • Bulk earthworks including the export of excess topsoil
  • Temporary erosion and sediment control for the site within an environmentally sensitive area
  • Construction of both gravity sewers and sewer rising main infrastructure
  • Installation of pre-cast stormwater pipes and culverts
  • Construction of potable and non-potable water infrastructure
  • Internal road construction including asphalt pavements, kerb and gutting and specialised brick-paved road areas
  • Construction of infiltration beds and bio filtration basins
  • Tie-in of internal road networks to Bayshore Drive
  • Connection of new infrastructure to existing water and sewer systems
  • Residential and Industrial Subdivision on Bayshore Drive Byron Bay
