Brookhaven Estate is a master planned residential community located in Bahrs Scrub within the Logan City Council District.

The project is in close proximity to Beenleigh Town Centre and the M1 between Brisbane and Gold Coast. The project works consisted of:

 

  • Bulk earthworks and civil works for 491 lots to date.
  • Trunk water and sewer infrastructure.
  • Multiple external roads upgraded.
  • Construction of a flood bund accommodating fish passage.
  • Management of vegetation retention and clearing.
  • Amelioration and screening topsoil.
  • Construction of several bio-retention basins.

Project Scope

  • Clearing and grubbing to stage limits, including management of retained vegetation.
  • 170,000m3 of cut to fill earthworks.
  • Excavation and blasting through hard rock material.
  • 80,000m3 of material export.
  • 10,250m2 of coloured concrete sleeper walls including two-tier walls up to 3m high.
  • 3,600m2 of A Grade Boulder retaining Wall including two Tier Walls up to 3m high.
  • 31,000m2 asphalt road construction
  • 75km of stormwater drainage up to 1500mm diameter and 5m deep including associated drainage structures.
  • 5km of potable water reticulation.
  • 8km of gravity sewer installation including associated sewer structures.
  • Electrical, communications, gas, and landscaping.
  • Installation of 4×5.5kw pump water booster including building.
Key Construction Elements

  • Brookhaven is a sloped subdivision that posed many challenges that the construction team needed to overcome during construction, such as safely working on slopes, staging earthworks, and construction retaining walls with limited access.
  • The ground conditions at Brookhaven are predominately rock. During construction, ripping, hammering, and blasting was utilised to maintain program and deliver the works in the nominated time frames.

  • Brookhaven has achieved a 5 Star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, recognising its holistic set of social, environmental, economic, and innovative attributes.
  • SEE Civil was able to overcome challenges such as rock and wet weather to achieve early Lot registrations.
