SEE Civil was engaged in 2017 to begin construction work on one of Greenbank’s most prominent development sites and is proud to be working on site still to this day. To date, 1,073 Lots have been completed and handed over with 163 Lots under construction (in various phases).

This master-planned residential community is located in the heart of Greenbank.  Houses are tucked away within 50ha of lush green bushland just 12 minutes from Springfield lakes.

The project works consist of:

  • Bulk earthworks & civil works
  • External road infrastructure upgrades
  • Construction of a new sewage pumping station
  • Management of vegetation retention and clearing.
Project Scope

  • Clearing and grubbing to stage limits including management of retained vegetation.
  • 488,100m3 bulk earthworks and remove and replace of rock to 750mm below FSL.
  • Export 108,800m3 of surplus fill material off-site.
  • Excavation and blasting through hard rock material.
  • 18,370m of gravity sewer installation including associated sewer structures.
  • 1.200m of pressure sewer installation including associated 10m deep 3m diameter sewage pumping station.
  • 13,670m of stormwater drainage up to 1800mm diameter and including associated drainage structures.
  • 15,680m of potable water reticulation installed including associated sewer structures.
  • 15,990m2 of Coloured Concrete Sleeper Walls including Two Tier Walls up to 3m high.
  • 2,270m2 of A-Grade Boulder retaining walls including two two-tier walls up to 3m high.
  • 95,270m2 of internal asphalt road network including shared user path to connect into a community-wide active transport system.
  • Multiple intersections and roundabouts.
  • 24,210m2 of concrete footpaths and driveways.
  • Construction of multiple bio basins.
  • Electrical, communication, gas and landscaping management.
  • All works and connections to Logan City Council Standards and Specifications.
Key Construction Elements

  • Covella possesses sensitive riparian environmental areas which are treated with great importance during construction.
  • The ground conditions at Covella are predominately rock. During construction ripping, hammering, and blasting have been utilised to maintain program and deliver the works in nominated time frames.
  • A rollout of consecutive stages has ensured that SEE Civil has maintained sufficient resources to ensure ongoing delivery on multiple fronts of work.
Project Outcomes and Deliverables

  • The project has so far delivered 1,073 affordable housing sites in the growing Covella community. Whilst another 163 housing sites are under construction.
  • Trunk sewerage infrastructure has been installed.
  • Collaboration with both the client and Logan Water to facilitate works and safe access through a live construction site led to the best project outcomes and carried success for further packages of work.
