SEE Group celebrates back-to-back awards at 2025 Gold Coast Business Awards
MEDIA RELEASE
3 December 2025
SEE Group has capped off a landmark year, securing both the Business of the Year title for the second consecutive time and the Construction & Trades Award at the 2025 Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards.
The dual victory — announced in front of more than 700 business and political leaders at The Star Gold Coast — places SEE Group among an elite cohort. In the 30-year history of the Awards, only one other company (Zarraffa’s Coffee in 2008) has achieved consecutive Business of the Year wins.
Founded in 1988 by brothers Brian and Bruce Turner, SEE Group has grown from a family-built operation into a leading infrastructure partner delivering major civil, urban development and mining projects across Queensland and New South Wales. Today, the business comprises four key divisions: civil engineering, mining, fleet management and quarrying.
The wins come during a period of significant growth for the company. Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards President Adam Twemlow said SEE Group had demonstrated exceptional performance and momentum over the past 12 months.
“The company has nearly doubled its workforce to 820 employees and almost doubled its revenue in the past year,” Mr Twemlow said.
“The quality of the entrants in 2025 had been exceptional, and the judging panel had an incredibly difficult task choosing the winners.”
The recognition also follows a $67 million investment from Ellerston Capital’s Industrial Growth Platform, marking one of the most significant private-sector investments into a Gold Coast-based business in recent years. The investment is set to accelerate SEE Group’s expansion, bolster delivery capability and fuel continued job creation across the region.
SEE Group Executive Director Peta Newton said the awards honour the expertise and dedication of the company’s people across all operations.
“With 37 years of history on the Gold Coast, SEE Group remains proudly family-built, and this recognition reinforces the impact we continue to make across the region,” Ms Newton said.
“These awards belong to our teams. They reflect the strength, capability and momentum our people bring every day, and the industry-leading standard they set across our projects.”
Mr Twemlow said the diversity of the businesses now entering the awards as opposed to 30 years ago showed how quickly the city was maturing.
“The Gold Coast, while its roots were originally agriculture and then tourism and construction, is emerging as a powerhouse in a diverse range of industries,’’’ he said.
“It is in no way surprising to me that the city has had the fastest growing economy of all cities in Australia for the past two years.”
The GCBEA celebrated category winners across a wide range of sectors, highlighting the depth and diversity of the region’s business community — from manufacturing and technology to health, tourism and education.
With back-to-back top honours, strong commercial performance and new capital investment secured, SEE Group closes out 2025 in a position of significant strength and is set to pursue further strategic growth throughout 2026.
SEE Group extends its thanks to the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards team for hosting an exceptional evening celebrating the region’s business community. The event was a powerful showcase of the innovation, capability and ambition driving the Gold Coast forward. We congratulate all fellow winners, finalists and nominees, and acknowledge the important role each organisation plays in strengthening and shaping the city’s ongoing growth and success.
