Cadia Mine Northern Tailings Storage Facility Western Buttress Remediation Project entails the loading and transportation of approximately 2.5 million cubic metres of material, that will be hauled over an average distance of 3 kilometres and placed along the Western Buttress wall.

It is noteworthy that the initial 20% of material will be placed using D11 Dozers, weighing in at approximately 112 tons each, remotely operated from a base station situated 1.5 kilometres from the worksite.

Early works have already commenced. The first separable portion is projected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024, with the ultimate project scheduled for completion by mid-2024.
