SEE Civil was appointed to undertake the earthworks and civil package to create a new 26-hectare industrial estate.

Citiswich Industrial Estate is located approximately 25 kilometres southwest of the Brisbane CBD and 8 kilometres northeast of the Ipswich CBD.

Located on the junction of the Warrego Highway, Cunningham Highway, and Ipswich Motorway it provides excellent transport links for operators.

Project Scope

  • Bulk earthworks.
  • Sewer installation and removal.
  • Stormwater utility works.
  • Box culverts and open swale drainage.
  • Civil works.
  • Service relocations including high-voltage electrical, NBN, Telstra, AARNet, water main and trunk sewer.
  • Footpath and landscaping works.

Key Construction Elements

  • Cut Volume: 210,000 cubic metres.
  • Fill Volume: 560,000 cubic metres.
  • Culverts: Two series of multicell RCBC with link slabs.
  • Trunk Sewer: 700 metres of 5 metre deep trunk sewer installation parallel to existing service alignment.
  • Overland Flow Diversion: Constant redirection of upstream clean water overland drainage through earthworks for full duration of project.
  • Asphalt: 1,600 tonnes polymer modified.
  • Landscaping: Streetscape and buffer planting with 750 timber bollards.
  • Concrete matting scour protection and gabion mattresses to swale drain.
  • Complex phasing of the project with extensive brownfield relocation works and service cutovers.
  • Full reconstruction of Hume Drive and creation of a new road (Warner Road) to enable the removal of Archer Street and flood mitigation access for the Public Utility Asset Owners.
