Moranbah North Mine (MNM) is an operating longwall coal mine located approximately 7 km north of Moranbah township in Central Queensland. The Moranbah North Mine – Dam 6 and Co-Disposal Area Northern Expansion Civil Works project commenced in June 2021 and was completed in June 2022.

Project Scope – Dam 6

  • 52 hectares of clearing and grubbing works.
  • 392,256 cubic metres of topsoil removed.
  • 532,853 cubic metres of dam embankment bulk earth works.
  • 9,275 cubic metres of pavement materials laid.
  • Decant structure, valves, and fitting works.
  • Return water inlet structure.
  • Geotechnical vibrating wire Vibrating Wire Piezometers.
Project Scope – CDA North Expansion

  • 161 hectares of clearing and grubbing works.
  • 340,300 cubic metres of topsoil removed.
  • 898,220 cubic metres of CDA embankment cut to fill.
  • Decant structures.
  • Decant outlet pipes.
  • Geotechnical vibrating wire Vibrating Wire Piezometers.
