The Surfers Paradise Sand Backpass Pipeline (the Pipeline) recycles and delivers natural sand from The Spit to Surfers Paradise to buffer against future storms and coastal erosion.

The Pipeline was completed over 2 stages and consisted of 7.8 kilometres of permanent underground 450 dia HDPE pipe and temporary above ground pipe.

Stage 2 of the works was 5.8km in total, starting at the Sand Backpass Pumping Station and joining onto Stage 1 works at Narrowneck Beach, Surfers Paradise.

    • 2.6km of roadway at Seaworld Drive, Main Beach.
